National Magazine Awards 2020 Virtual Presentation
Dear Colleagues,
When the decision to postpone the National Magazine Awards was announced in March, ASME hoped to present the awards live in May. This is, of course, now impossible. Instead, ASME will announce the winners of the 2020 National Magazine Awards for Print and Digital Media during a virtual event on Thursday, May 28, at 8pm ET / 5pm PT.
All 112 finalists will be honored during the National Magazine Awards 2020 Virtual Presentation. Tom Junod will also present the Magazine Editor’s Hall of Fame Award to David Granger; Emily Nemens will accept the ASME Award for Fiction on behalf of The Paris Review; and the five recipients of the ASME Awards for Journalists Under 30 will be honored.
Live viewing of this special event will be limited to those who previously purchased tickets or wish to purchase tickets now. Passwords for the event will be distributed the day before the event. A recording of the stream will be posted on YouTube the first week of June, allowing winners to post acceptance speeches.
Ticket holders will also receive invitations to attend the live event ASME plans to host in September honoring the National Magazine Awards 2020 finalists and winners.

On behalf of ASME, I want to thank you for your patience and continuing support of the National Magazine Awards. We hope this special presentation of the 55th-annual Ellie Awards will provide an opportunity not only to recognize the best in print and digital journalism but also for editors and publishers across the country to celebrate as a community.
Thanks, Sid
Sidney Holt Executive Director American Society of Magazine Editors
