Seventy Miles in the Darién Gap,” photographs by Lynsey Addario, September

Lynsey Addario traveled to the Darién Gap to document one of the world’s most dangerous migration routes. She accompanied families as they hiked through the jungle, traversing mountain slopes and rushing rivers. Her images captured the scale of the event as well as small yet profound moments, like the one of a small child comforting her crying mother.
