Job Description
I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives. is seeking an SEO Writer to join its team. He or she should be an experienced digital editor and writer with an interest in covering food, DIY, holidays, entertaining, home and lifestyle, a deep understanding of SEO, and a passion for the Martha Stewart brand.

The SEO Writer for will work closely with the edit team to create concise, precisely optimized content for search. The ideal candidate will be a skilled digital editor and writer, feel extremely comfortable using analytics to help guide content creation, and have a strong interest in SEO.

The Writer will be responsible for writing, optimizing, assigning, and editing content with the goal of increasing search traffic. He or she will work closely with the edit team and SEO growth lead to complete keyword research and to create content for specific business-critical keywords and phrases. The candidate should be skilled at crafting SEO content initiatives and collaborating with others to meet (and exceed) traffic goals. He or she should be an excellent writer and have previous experience with assigning and editing content.

Write and/or optimize at least 3 stories per day across all content verticals
Brainstorm and commission ideas for improving our search content
Collaborate with our social, newsletter, SEO, and print departments

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job RequirementsAll must be met to be considered.
Bachelors’ degree in Journalism or related field
+3 years of digital experience
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Incredible writing, editing, and brainstorming skills
Deep understanding of SEO best practices and keyword research tools such as a SEMRush
A proven track record of creating content that drives traffic and engagement
A strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask
A strategic thinker who considers traffic and analytics before making an editorial decision
An idea generator who can think of new, fresh ways to package content
Excellent people skills
Enthusiastic about the Martha Stewart brand and the topics we cover
