Editorial Assistant at Business of Home

BOH is seeking a whip-smart, enthusiastic editorial assistant with a passion for business and interior design to join our integrated print-digital team. You will pitch ideas, report, and write stories for both the site and the magazine, assist with research, and provide administrative support to the BOH editorial team as needed. This is a remote-first position based in New York City.

Your role: 

  • Write 1-2 digital news stories per week
  • Build digital news stories in CMS for editors as needed, including photo research
  • Manage BOH’s social media channels—posting all content daily to Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, plus developing engaging story slides on Instagram
  • Write 1-2 articles for each quarterly issue of the magazine
  • Assist market editor with photo research and sample requests
  • Photo research and fact-checking for print articles
  • Build digital version of print issues in CMS
  • Send PDFs to the designers/brands featured in each print issue 

You are:

  • Interested in business reporting and writing (experience is an added bonus)
  • Versed in analytics and digital best practices
  • Resourceful, creative, and a strategic thinker with a problem-solving approach
  • Able to manage multiple detailed projects simultaneously, and extremely organized
  • Proficient in Google Docs, MS Office Suite, Slack
